Dental Implant Restorations
Dental implants are an excellent long-term solution to missing teeth. Patients who receive dental implants experience improved speech, are freed from the embarrassment of denture slips, and can finally eat whatever they want. The days of denture cleaning and adhesives can be over. Dental implants are as easy to take care of as natural teeth and made to last for many years.
Dental implants help patients improve and maintain their dental health as well as regain the freedom and control that they had with their natural teeth. Aside from their cosmetic benefits, dental implants can help prevent potentially serious health problems. Denture and bridge wearers many times experience gum recession and bone loss because of the rubbing caused by these removable devices. This creates a hollowed out look around the mouth were tissue has been lost. Because implants are anchored in the jaw, they help strengthen the gum tissue, jawbone, and bite, improving your overall health. When a tooth is missing, the surrounding teeth tend to lean in toward the resulting gap, creating such serious health problems as persistent headaches and bite disorders.
Dr. Konikoff works closely with a periodontist who implants lightweight titanium anchors into the jaw that will serve as the foundation for your replacement teeth. He then uses his skill as a cosmetic dentist to craft replacement teeth that complement your surrounding teeth and the contours of your mouth and face.
If you are missing one or more of your natural teeth, we’re confident that you’ll love the way you look and feel with dental implants. To schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Konikoff, contact Konikoff Family Dentistry today.

Full and Partial Dentures
When patients prefer not to undergo the surgical procedure required to provide them with dental implants, Dr. Konikoff and his staff are able to use their full -service dental laboratory to customize full and partial dentures. Dentures give back the freedom that comes with having a full set of teeth. And because Dr. Konikoff and his staff are fully equipped with the latest technologies and have the necessary experience to fashion dentures that fit comfortably and securely in your mouth, you’re less likely to experience denture slips.

Porcelain Crowns
If you have a tooth that is worn or decayed, natural looking porcelain crowns allow you to preserve the healthy portion of that tooth, lessening the likelihood of future costly dental complications. Porcelain crowns improve your smile by completely covering a damaged tooth with a “cap” that’s fashioned to match the color of your surrounding teeth. Porcelain is the material of choice for any dentist who hopes to give his patients fabulous smiles. Dr. Konikoff is experienced in applying porcelain crowns so you can be assured of an excellent result.

Dental Bridges
Patients who are missing one or more of their natural teeth many times choose to restore their smile with a dental bridge. By securing a natural looking replacement tooth between porcelain crowns that are attached to the teeth on either side of a gap, Dr. Konikoff and his staff provide patients with a longer lasting alternative to removable bridges. With proper care, dental bridges can last as long as ten years or more. Like porcelain veneers, dental bridges can help to prevent headaches and bite disorders. When a tooth is missing, the surrounding teeth tend to lean in toward the space where the tooth should be, causing potentially serious medical problems like TMJ (temporo mandibular joint) dysfunction. With a fixed dental bridge in place, the surrounding teeth will not shift out of place.

Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are more conservative approaches to restoring and preserving damaged teeth. These procedures are much like porcelain crowns in that they cover, protect and strengthen teeth. However, inlays and onlays are designed to treat teeth with less extensive damage by covering the top surface of the tooth instead of the entire tooth, as is the case with porcelain crowns. Inlays and onlays require two office visits. The damaged part of the tooth is first removed. Then, a cast is made of the tooth and a natural looking porcelain inlay or onlay is crafted to be bonded to the tooth during your next office visit. The damage covered with inlays is between the cusp tips of the tooth. Onlays are used when the damage is slightly more extensive, requiring the entire chewing surface of the tooth to be replaced. Inlays and onlays strengthen teeth and increase biting force, making it easier to eat certain foods. Dr. Konikoff and his staff are experienced in the application of inlays and onlays. It’s important that you contact a dentist who knows the finer details of these procedures in order to fully discuss your options and possibly avoid more invasive and costly procedures.
